Powerful degreaser and multifunction cleaner, it is essential to make your natural and economical housekeeping products. Used in “cake” recipes. Also called "natron", we find him in fossil deposits or in savory lakes. It was particularly used in ancient Egypt as an all-use cleanser and also in the mummification process.

Properties : Degreaser, cleaner, staining, purifying, it softens water, increases the effectiveness of the detergent by its alkaline pH and recreates wonderfully.

Uses:

  • To challenge a surface, put a little soda crystals on a damp sponge.
  • To make a liquid all-use cleaner, dissolve 1 to 2 tablespoons of soda crystals in 1l of water and vaporize on the surfaces to be cleaned. Add 2 tablespoons of liquid soap to create a degreasing product.
  • In your clothes washer, it is ideal for preventing tartar formation and whitening fabrics. Put from 1 to 2 tablespoons (stable linen) to ½ cup (white linen) of soda crystals in the laundry tank or directly in the tank.
  • To unclog a pipe, pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of soda crystals in the opening of the pipe. Leave to act for a few minutes then pour 1 cup of vinegar and 1 l of boiling water then use a suction cup to move the cap.

Do not confuse with ...

  • baking soda. This last is less alkaline, but with similar properties. Please note, unlike baking soda, soda crystals are too aggressive for cosmetic use. They are reserved for household use.
  • The naoh caustic soda, which is much more alkaline and very corrosive. This is to be reserved for the manufacture of “house” soaps in cold saponification.
